Radiodetection CAT4 Plus Cable Locator Avoidance Tool is the newest improvement and successor to Radiodetection CAT 3 Plus underground cable locator. The CAT4 help to locate buried cables; therefore, reduce the number of cable strikes and more safely.

The Radiodetection CAT 4 plus cable locator works alone and with Genny4 signal transmitter. When working alone, the locator can find energized cables with 50/60 Hz frequency (power mode), find cables and objects re-emitting radio frequency (radio mode).

The Radiodetection Genny4 signal transmitter ads two additional modes of cable detection. Active frequency (33 Hz), when the transmitter is connected to a cable.

The signal transmitter can also be switched to broadcast signal directly to ground (passive mode).

In this mode, all underground cables and metallic non-ferrous object pick up the signal then re-emit it toward the surface. CAT4 locator finds underground utilities, when you scan an area in proximity to the signal transmitter.

The broadcast mode is most popular was of searching for cables and non-ferrous metallic objects, before you dig. Construction companies use that more frequently. It does not pin-point to a cable location, but finds cables before excavation.
